Should Podiatrists see Patients outside to reduce COVID-19 risk?

So news appears to be coming in that transmission of the coronavirus is less risky outside than it is inside. This tends to make sense and also would correlate with Southern States having less cases than Northern states. Additionally, adding in the fact that COVID 19 seems to be limited or killed quicker in sunlight leads one to believe that perhaps seeing patients outside may be an option for Podiatric offices. Now obviously if your office is in a big office building a Podiatrist seeing patients outside is not an option.

However, though, if you are a stand a lot office with a parking lot in the back not off a main street then seeing patients outside to reduce COVID exposure as a Podiatrist is not that crazy of an idea. Now before you go off purchasing a tent, that is not what I am arguing. By buying a tent you are basically creating the same conditions that occur in an enclosed space. In order to see patients outside while also satisfying HIPPA requires a creative solution to make a small waiting room. And here is my solution for you that will not cost a billion dollars:

Portable Room Dividers can easily be set up in a backyard parking lot, as it were, to create a virtual office room set up something like this:

Now the other option that would require some creativity would be to hang sheets from poles. There are clamps you could buy to accomplish the idea of making a medical treatment room outside.

Needless to say bringing a Podiatry Chair outside is really not much of an option so you will need something for the patient to sit on. This is somewhat a little more difficult. Again this requires us to get creative as well and for this I would recommend a bath or shower chair which will still be comfortable for the patient. You would also need a foot rest of some kind but those should be easy to find.

Listen this requires creativity and is obviously risky but this Coronavirus Pandemic requires Podiatrists to be creative
