Did you used to work for a Podiatrist but get laid off or become unemployed due to the Coronavirus? It’s tough, I know. The first thing you should do is file for unemployment and realize that it is not your fault. Now no other Podiatrist in your area is probably hiring either since this recession is hitting Podiatry extremely hard.
So what other jobs are you qualified for? Well the good news is a lot. Being a Podiatry Medical Assistant has provided you a wealth of experience that will make you extremely valuable to other companies and corporations. First off, and this is obvious, your experience as a Podiatry Medical Assistant should easily transfer you to being a medical assistant for any other profession, whether it’s orthopedics, plastic surgery or hospital aide. One job I would urge you to look into is being a Nursing Home Aide. Podiatry Medical Assistant sets you up perfectly for that.
Another option that I would urge you to consider is go back to school and upgrade to a nurse. It pays better and will allow you some financial flexibility in the future. Seriously consider taking this time to go back and go to Nursing School. There are just so many options. Look at this as not a set back but as a launch pad to a new career
